Before working
with research animals

The Unit accepts projects from researchers within and outside the Faculty. Every project must receive IACUC approval before animal work begins.

Discuss a New Project
  1. 01

    Contact the Unit

Provide an overview of the study, species, and planned procedures.

  2. 02

    Submit the IACUC Protocol

The committee meets every month to review animal use proposals.

  3. 03

    Complete Health and Safety Training

Personnel learn about laboratory animal allergies, personal hygiene, biosafety, and emergency procedures.

  4. 04

    Prepare for Facility Access

Personnel shower, change into facility clothing, and use the required personal protective equipment.
